Sim Local, the largest seller of SIM cards in the UK travel market, today announces the opening of two new stores in Athens International Airport, Greece. The stores are situated in the landside arrivals area and the baggage reclaim hall, making buying a local SIM card on arrival in the Greek capital simple.
The two stores were custom designed and built for the space available at AIA and feature eye-catching digital canopies. As well as great value local SIM cards from Vodafone and Tazamobile, the stores sell a curated range of accessories from suppliers including SKROSS.
Ian Rankin, Chief Trading Officer at Sim Local, comments: “We are delighted to be trading in Athens International Airport and are already seeing strong sales as intercontinental travel continues to bounce back following the COVID-19 pandemic. Our partnership with AIA is testament to our ambitious growth plans, and we are already exploring additional opportunities to expand our reach into more European airports over the coming months.’
Sim Local’s two Athens stores join its roll call of stand-alone stores that include multiple locations in London Heathrow and a store in the baggage hall at Brussels airport. Sim Local also operates a network of vending machines across European airports and works with affiliate partners including WHSmith and InMotion in airports globally.
